The EP will also include a piano version of the song, as well as a duet version.

Best Song Ever Artwork Revealed

One Direction have unveiled the artwork for their new single 'Best Song Ever'.

The collage-style cover for their new track appears below.

'Best Song Ever' - out July 22 - serves as a promotional single for their upcoming 3D movie This Is Us.

The song was co-written by Ed Drewett, Wayne Hector, John Ryan and Julian Bunetta.

This Is Us will be in UK cinemas from August 29 and a day later in the US.

One Direction's label boss Simon Cowell recently praised the music video for 'Best Song Ever', tweeting: "[It's their] best video ever, these boys are very very smart."

One Direction Boys Go Solo!…Well Kinda

One Direction have set up individual publishing to capitalise on their songwriting credits.

The five-piece have each signed a deal with song publishing company Fingate, who currently look after the back catalogues of Elvis Presley, Britney Spears and Foo Fighters.

"This is a real statement of intent from the band," a source told The Sun. "They have absolutely no intention of being spoon-fed pop puppets. They want to write and they want to earn as individuals."

A song publisher's function is to request payment for the use of an act's song when it appears in adverts, films or even on compilation albums.

The tabloid suggests that the new deals pave the way for One Direction members to write songs for other artists or even their own future solo careers.

What's more, reports say that each member of the group has set up a personal recording studio in their own homes to work on new music.

If you look at an album booklet such as Take Me Home, you'll see the names of the boys who wrote each individual song, so If a certain song is used on a tv show or movie, that boy would earn money and the boys who didnt write it wouldnt. This means the boys will now earn different amounts depending on their song writing abilities!
