One Direction Win 2 MTV EMA Awards!

One Direction win Best Pop at MTV EMA awards and Harry Styles wins Best Look

Unfortunately, none of the boys could make it to the event to pick their awards up

It's been a very good year for our favourite boyband.

And One Direction have proved that their successful streak is far from over.

The floppy-haired boys picked up the award for Best Pop at the MTV EMA Awards this evening.

Unfortunately, after spending so much time away on their Take Me Home tour, the boys couldn't make it to the ceremony.

We were quite sad - we'd have really enjoyed seeing them in their matching outfits on the black carpet .

Harry Style also won a sparkly award all of his own.

The mousey-haired heartthrob, who was spotted at Alexa Chung's 30th birthday bash on Friday night, won Best Look.

And we can understand why. He really does look very good indeed...

One Direction MTV’s Artist Of The Year!

They're platinum. They're fascinating. And now One Direction is MTV's 2012 Artist of the Year.

MTV says the fivesome is "the clear choice for the top spot" after a year that included two No 1 albums, hits such as What Makes You Beautiful and a sold-out world tour.

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson calls Thursday's honour "the icing on the cake".

MTV's team of music staffers chose Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe as song as the year.

One Direction placed third on the UK version of The X Factor in 2010 and made their US debut in March with the No 1 album Up All Night. Their secon album, Take Me Home, was the year's third-highest debut.

The group also made Barbara Walters' most fascinating people of 2012 list.

One Direction Love Screaming Fans

Being picture perfect is something that comes rather easily to the good looking members of One Direction.

The British boy band looked at their dashing best as they got suited and booted for a glossy photo shoot and revealed that they just love girls screaming at them.

The former X Factor competitors are unable to go anywhere in public without being mobbed by their fans, but that is just one perk of the job.

Speaking in December's edition of Vogue magazine Niall Horan said: 'I love it. I love the screaming.

'They love it, too: they’ve all got their tickets and they’ve been waiting a year or so to see you, so you’ve got to give it your best.'

Harry Styles is perhaps the singer who seems to get the most female attention but he is still getting his head around being a sexy symbol.

He told the magazine: 'You’re never going to get used to walking into a room and have people screaming at you.

'There’s a lot of things that come with the life you could get lost in. But you have to let it be what it is. I’ve learnt not to take everything too seriously.'

With his close friendship with BBC Radio 1 Nick Grimshaw influencing his fashion choices, Harry laughs at how he used to dress.

He said: 'I like fashion.  When I look back at the kind of stuff I wore on the X Factor, I laugh. There’s no excuse.'

The boys, who were recently guests on Spanish TV show El Hormiguero, are also planning on making themselves sound more like a live band for their next album.

Harry told Vogue: 'We want to gradually get more and more ‘live’ sounding. So this album is a lot less little synth sounds, more guitars and drums.

'It’s important to experiment with things – we want to move with the times, but keep true to ourselves.'
