Midnight Memories Limited Edition Record!

One Direction have announced they will be releasing a vinyl version of their single Midnight Memories for Record Store Day.

As well as including previously unseen pictures, the release will feature a live version of Rock Me from the band's documentary One Direction: This Is Us.

A limited number of copies of the single will be available.

Other acts taking part in Record Store Day, which is on 19 April, include The Sex Pistols and Jake Bugg.

Suede, Green Day and LCD Soundsystem are also among those to announce releases.

One Direction's third album, Midnight Memories, became the best-selling record of 2013 in the UK, despite only being released in November.

Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record shops, is credited with driving a recent surge in vinyl sales.

Recent research by ICM showed 18 to 24-year-olds were buying more vinyl records than any other age group under 50.

In 2013, it generated £2 million and saw Biffy Clyro, Tom Odell and Chvrches release limited edition albums.

Last year, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) announced vinyl records had achieved their highest sales figures for more than a decade.

But vinyl sales still only account for 0.7% of all albums sold, a small amount compared to downloads and CDs.

One Direction Partner With Kodaline

One Direction have teamed up with Kodaline to work on new music.

The boyband's Harry Styles is currently in Los Angeles working on tracks with the Irish band, which are expected to be on the forthcoming 1D album.

One Direction started working on new songs for their fourth studio album earlier this year, due out in late 2014.

It will serve as the follow-up to their 2013 album Midnight Memories, which reached number one in over 19 countries worldwide.

The album has gone on to sell over a million copies in the US alone, while being certified double platinum in the UK with sales of 700,000 plus.

Meanwhile, Kodaline reached number three in the UK with their debut album In A Perfect World last summer, which spawned the hits 'Love Like This', 'High Hopes' and 'All I Want'.

One Direction Set For $1Billion Year!

One Direction are reportedly set to earn $1 billion (£661m) over the next 12 months.

The boyband's upcoming 'Where We Are' tour - which will see them headline stadiums worldwide - is predicted to beat U2's '360' tour record, which stands at £447m for its run.

"It would be amazing for 1D to climb to the very top of the tour league so early in their career," a spokesperson for One Direction told the Daily Star."That would be a phenomenal testament to the loyalty and support of their fans."

Meanwhile, further reports have suggested that One Direction are planning to launch their own chain of "child-friendly" cafés for their die-hard fans to hang out in.

One Direction recently confirmed that they will release 'Midnight Memories' on March 9 as the third single to be lifted from their recent album of the same name.

Midnight Memories Top Selling Album Of 2013!

One Direction's Midnight Memories has become the UK's biggest-selling album of 2013.

The record overtook Emile Sandé's Our Version of Events to earn the title, The Official Charts Company has confirmed.

Since the album's release in November, it has sold 685,000 copies. Our Version of Events, 2012's biggest seller, was purchased 683,000 times in 2013.

Liam Payne said of the achievement: "This tops an amazing year for us.

"We're so excited to have the biggest-selling album in the UK this year, especially with a record we are all so proud of. We'd like to thank everyone who has bought the album, it really means a lot to us."

Midnight Memories sold over 237,000 copies during its first week on sale, making it the fastest-selling UK album of 2013, as well as of One Direction's career so far.

Their 2011 album Up All Night sold 139,000 in its first week, while their follow-up Take Me Home sold 155,000.
